This year it had around half that where every other game, except Tekken 7 which officially released on consoles this year, also saw a player decrease. Last year it broke all records with most entrants ever. I knew the Evo thing was going to come up. Also easy to to pick up to just play before getting into what really makes the game tick.Īlso the best title for some fun with your not-so competitive friends as you can button mash and at least feel like you're doing something Tekken 7 - the current golden child for much of the FGC, adds the element of 8 way run. Has the better ranking system if you plan on being mostly just an online warrior, game has been dumbed down compared to last titles to reduce the learning curve. SFV - tho steadily losing player base as the competitive scene is turning against Capcom for their handling of their fighters. Guilty Gear - great game all around, imo air-dash/anime fighters seem donhave a larger learning curve.īest in-game tutorial except for maybe skullgirls, teaches you basic fundamentals and some skills that will follow you regardless of which fighter you play Loads of single player content to explore if you need a break or feeling a bit salty after some online sets. Injustice 2- easy enough to pick up and play before starting to get into the nitty gritty of the mechanics of a fighter. There's no "wrong" option as long as you have fun! There's no easier game to learn than the one you enjoy playing. Injustice is good from what I've seen, never got my grubby hands on it so can't say anything that isn't already said. That said, it has a ton of rewarding depth to it. You'll need to look up guides and such to figure out most things. Tekken 7 is arguably the most complex big release currently out, but it has little to no tutorials or explanation in the game itself. Very fast and fun, a good intro to the wacky shenanigans of the genre. Guilty Gear/BlazBlue are probably the best Anime Fighters out right now (a genre that includes Marvel vs Capcom and the upcoming Dragon Ball Fighters Z) and they have very extensive, useful tutorials. Much slower and easier to understand what's going on than other titles. SFV is the best for teaching fundamentals, the game is simple compared to other big titles and the combos are made a lot easier via an input buffer.
